Workshop design

For this assignment, we chose to design a workshop plan on the topic of microplastics.

In this workshop, 25-30 children aged 6-8 will learn about the presence and impact of microplastics in our environment through a dynamic exploration over the course of two hours. In the beginning, the children will adopt the role of “Plastic Detectives” and identify microplastics in everyday items. This activity will be followed by a short discussion in which they will learn what microplastics are, where they can be found and their effect on the environment. They will also explore practical ways to reduce plastic pollution through the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. The workshop wraps up with a scavenger hunt to find eco-friendly alternatives to different plastic products. By the end of the session, each child will receive a detective badge as a symbol of their commitment to combatting plastic pollution
